It is an important goal of mine to provide my patients with the best information to make well -informed choices on choosing the breast implant which will give them the most natural looking appearance.   As a  plastic surgeon  for over 2o years and member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, I am very pleased by the opportunity to now offer the silicone Memorygel implants by Mentor Corporation.    Silicone gel are the  implant of choice for the more natural look and feel among my clients.  After discussing the surgery in detail the patient is shown to an examination room where I  examine  and measure  my client with the Bodylogic system by Mentor as a guide for a  discussion of type and size of implants.  My patients are able to examine actual implants of  various  size and projection and  decide  on  the implant  they are looking for.  After trying on the different styles and shapes we talk about the two most important reasons for selection of silicone gel implants the more natural appearance and the feel of the implant.  In my practice I prefer the sub-muscular approach with gel implants which reduces the ripples and ridges of implants giving my patient a more natural appearance.  Mentor MemoryGel implant come in three different projections  and and many different sizes from 150cc-800cc the patient  bases  her  implant decision on the  breast size  and  profile she wishes to have.  Here is some basic information about silicone gel implants:

MemoryGel™ breast implants are filled with Mentor’s proprietary silicone gel that holds together uniformly while retaining the natural give that resembles breast tissue.  A variety of breast implant profiles (which refers to the amount of forward projection off the chest wall, in relation to the base width of the implant), gives me to achieve a better match between desired breast projection and your individual body frame. All MemoryGel breast implants are available in Smooth or Siltex^® . I prefer the smooth implants and find I have found I have less problems with smooth implants.

Round MemoryGel Moderate Profile gives the patient standard projection, with a wider base width.

Round MemoryGel™Moderate Plus Profile gives the patient a higher projection, with moderate base width.

Round MemoryGel™High Profile. offers the patient the highest projection, with narrower base width.
